Daniel Pennac was a teacher for young people with learning difficulties. But in the end, he turned to the teaching profession. Not out of passion, but because he had to justify the studies he had undertaken. It was after giving an hour of class to a class of struggling students that the job became a passion. Faced with these struggling young people, Daniel Pennac saw himself as a child. He had had problems at school and knew how to approach his class. First, by not dramatizing their lack of knowledge of the school curriculum. Rather than trying to fill these students up like wineskins, the writer sought to find out what they already knew in order to guide them towards active learning. Through drama classes and reading aloud, each student relearned what literature was. Not just a school subject, but a vast field of fascinating stories to discover. In addition, reading allows you to live longer.
